I love listening to and documenting stories. In high school I wanted to extract stories from my beloved Gramps about his life because I knew the opportunity to do so was fleeting. I'm the "keeper" in my family, the one with the boxes of outgrown clothing, letters sent, photos, books with dog-eared pages and recipes saved for decades.
As a dedicated mother, I held community circles for the telling of birth stories because I needed a place to celebrate, process and plan my own. I learned so much from hearing others do the same.
After decades of being a full-time mom, I became a caregiver for elders and then a Daily Money Manager with mostly senior clients. I soak up the anecdotes and tidbits shared about their lives leading up to the time our paths have crossed.
I approached family members of a client whose stories I loved listening to and asked if I could document their stories to see if my idea of creating a book was realistic. The time I spent with them was mutually fulfilling, and the book we crafted together made a lovely Christmas gift for their adult children. Around this same time, I completed a 30-hour death education course. I really enjoyed the discussions about legacy work and I embraced the tasks of honoring a life well-lived.
My plan to offer this service for other storytellers grew from there, and Right Hand Legacy Works was born.
I have a BA in Speech Communication from the University of Northern Colorado, a lifetime of compassionate presence and dedication to quality work that help me create lovely books for you.
I am a Colorado native, wife, mother to three young men and two goldendoodles, and many other cherished roles. I enjoy assembling jigsaw puzzles, giving escape rooms my best shot, and breathing in the air of ponderosa pines in the mountains.
